Tradition is Thanksgiving is always at our house. This was our first thanksgiving at our new house so it was a little different. We just have to get used to it considering we spent 11 Thanksgivings at our old house. My Aunt came from Guatemala and My Cousin and her daughter came from New York. So it was a full house. Theres nothing like Family getting together and enjoying ALOT of food : ), I have made the turkey the past 3 years. This year I decided to go with a new recipe... It came out better than my older recipe and everyone enjoyed it.

Trick R' Treat
This Halloween was very different from others. It was on a Saturday and me and my mom had to work so whe really didn't get to hand out to much candy or dress up, plus it was raining and only about 10 kids ended up coming for candy. Anyways we celebrated Halloween on Friday, Juancho's Cousin had a Halloween Party at her house, so we decided to go all out with the costumes. All Home Made I might add. Karla (Me and Juancho helped) made hers and Juanchos. I made mine and my mom made hers. Here are some pics from the party...

Dear, Mr. President....
A while back i wrote President Obama, on an issue that i am very passionate about. Immigration reform is something that he promised to do and must be done as soon as possible. I didn't expect to hear back from him since he is so busy. But a couple a weeks ago I was shocked when i got the mail i saw a letter from the White House with my name on it. I opened and it was from President Obama, the letter is typed up (of course) but its actually signed by him. You can clearly tell its not printed or stamped, its signed with pen. Here are some shots of it....

Salazar Family Reunion
I haven't had time to post, but finally here they are. We went to Lake Anna and had the our first Family Reunion. Of course not everyone was there. We have family in Guatemala, Las Vegas, California and New York. Hopefully next year they will be able to join us. We got there Saturday and left around noon on Sunday. We all had a great time, even though it did storm on us and things got all muddy, but... that's camping!!
Now we have to plan next years :), maybe we can do it in Vegas!!

The Bird and The Fan
We moved into our new house on Dec 15th 2008 and since that day, the bathroom fan in the third level hasn't worked. Days have gone by and we just left it like that. Every day saying that we would look at it the next day. Well, I finally decided to look at it. Yesterday afternoon, I got on top of the toilet and unscrewed the screw holding the plate up against the ceiling. It probably doesn't work because its dirty, my mom would say. I pulled the plate off and to my amazement it was dirty, very dirty. And on the side a Black Birds head pocked out. I jumped and almost fell off the toilet. The bird had been stuck in the fan for months. Juancho was able to unscrew the fan and remove the bird. It was disgusting.... The bird was so stiff and was kind of moldy on the end. Well, at least our fan works now :).

Movie Review: UP

UP.... I saw up opening weekend, in a very very crappy movie theater. The price for admission was the same. I saw it in Disney Digital 3-D, which made the experience 100 times better. There are no "Jumping Out" moments during the movie but its really cool to see the depth in different scenes, from the jungles of Peru to the blue cloudy sky. The 3D is very real. The cool thing is you don't have to see it in 3D to get the whole experience. The movie is excellent from beginning to end. Its funny, dramatic and pulls at your heart in more than one occasion. Its an animated masterpiece. At times it might seem too "corny", but not enough times to make this film a failure. I predict this movie will WIN an Oscar for Best Animated Film. If you have not seen it, GO SEE IT, or just wait till November 10th when it comes out on Blu Ray and DVD. I give Disney/Pixar's UP an A.
